During this blog, I am going to explain the changes and effects on my life being diagnosed with a rare form of Leukaemia has had.The aim of this blog is to provide information, guidance and advice to anyone in need of help. After suffering with a very rare form of Acute Myeloid Leukaemia with PH+(Philadelphia Chromosome) for the last 18 months, I wanted to make advice available and discuss my personal experience of having the illness. I dont feel enough people are aware of the condition and this blog will aim to provide information about Leukaemia aswell as documenting my experiences during a tough 18 months for my family and I.
The start of 2006 was going very well for me. I was playing rugby for my new club Betws RFC and thouroughly enjoying my time playing with my Brother and being managed by my Dad. Our season was going quite well but unfortunately we just failed to get promotion at the final hurdle, losing at home against top of the table side Llanybydder. That was very disappointing but we all promised ourselves to work hard during off-season and gain promotion the following season.
The summer went well and I was busy captaining Betws Cricket Club in the Swansea League, we had a decent enough season and all was well.
